International students at Cromwell College have the option of living in a homestay arrangement with a local family. Alternatively, they can live in our specialist student hostel, the Cromwell College Apartments and take part in the highly successful Independent Living Programme as well as the Outdoor Pursuits Programme which runs each Sunday and long weekends.
Tuition fees:
- One term $ 5,000
- Two terms $ 7,500
- Three terms $10,000
- Four terms $12,500
Fees include administration, homestay placement, ID card, school magazine, most airport pickups and uniform if necessary. All educationally related expenses are included in the tuition fees such as class field trips, course materials and workbooks. It does not cover option fees for specialist subjects such as Outdoor Education, Photography and Food or Materials Technology or entry fees to NCEA or Correspondence School.
Homestay fee: NZ$220 per week
Apartments fee (includes allowance for Homestay during school term holidays):
The Apartments fee covers accommodation at the Cromwell College Apartments, food and all associated Apartments costs.

- Three terms (includes 4 weeks homestay) $ 9,780
- Four terms (includes 6 weeks homestay) $12,620
Outdoor Pursuits Programme fee (weekend programme for Apartment residents):
- Term One $ 750.00
- Term Two $ 750.00
- Term Three $ 750.00*
- Term Four $ 750.00
- Full Year $2,500.00
Outdoor Pursuits expenses cover all costs related to these programmes including instruction/coaching fees, transport and basic gear.
*If a student is in the Outdoor Pursuits Academy as well as the Outdoor Education Programme, the Term 3 bill for Outdoor Education is reduced by $300.
Outdoor Education fee:
This fee covers expenses related to the specialised programmes that take place on Thursday which includes windsurfing, kayaking, mountain biking and tramping in Terms 1, 2 and 4; Term 3 is Skiing/Snowboarding. It includes all instruction, transport, and a season lift pass. This fee varies with the number of students taking the course but is generally about $1000. Ski hire is additional.
Insurance: This can be arranged by Cromwell College. The cost varies depending on the length of stay.
