 Queen's High School, a school for girls, was established in 1955. It offers a broad, balanced curriculum, excellent academic achievement and a rich cultural and sporting life in a disciplined and caring environment. Queen's High School is a state school of approximately 450 students. The school is situated in St Clair, a coastal suburb with a great surfing beach. Queen's girls are encouraged and challenged to achieve to the very best of their ability and the school is renowned for its care of individual students.
The curriculum available at Queen's High School is very wide and varied, catering for the needs of a diverse range of students. Students are able to study subjects such as drama, dance, photography, child development, equine and animal studies, to name a few, as well as the more traditional academic subjects. Outdoor education and physical education are very popular subjects and the local environment lends itself well to these courses. Queen's High School has a modern gymnasium, library, specialist drama, art & music rooms as well as professional foods facilities, several computer rooms and modern science laboratories. The school shares a Performing Arts Centre with its brother school, King's High School.
Queen's High School hosts approximately 10 - 20 international students per year. Girls come to us from Europe, and in particular from Germany and Switzerland, as well as the Asian countries of Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea and China. In addition we host exchange students from all over the world including France, Germany and South America. International students are integrated fully into the school programmes and their contribution to the culture of the school is valued. Home-stay is organised for all the international students and this is usually within walking distance of the school.
